Techie Question: What is DSEK?
Over the past week, there has been several announcements of Intel releasing the DSEK-12. My first question was, what the heck is DSEK-12 – it sounded like something from Star Wars. So after some research, I discovered that it was an Intel terminology for Digital Signage Evaluation Kit. The number stands for the release version. So currently it is up to release 12 but after some digging around I couldn’t find anything before 10. Maybe it started with 10, ie 1.0
Basically, the DSEK is a kit or simply put a cardboard box that includes a commercial grade hardware and software (evaluation licenses) to help you kick off your digital signage evalution – the hardware will obviously have the Intel processor.
