DIGITAL SIGNAGE FAIL - INCORRECT SETUP

I saw a digital signage screen not working and out of habit, I decided to take a photo so I could post here. It was at a shopping centre and it displayed the Samsung My Content screen:

SUGGESTIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS

We’ve used Samsung screens for years but we’ve never actually tested or used the Samsung Smart Hub feature so we can’t comment as to whether the screen has been correctly configured or not but from what we can tell from the picture, it’s waiting for content to be uploaded to the screens
It’s possible someone deleted the old content and forgot to upload the new content
Another possibility is that someone stole or removed the USB thumb drive connected to the screen which had the content
Someone used an IR remote control and played around with the settings
For the newer Samsung commercial screens, there is an option to lock the USB port and Infra-Red port via the main menu screens. This is recommended for screens that are in public places
Add a security PIN code to prevent unauthorised access to the screen menu
